Theresa M. Snyder of Lucinda continues to serve as the Democratic Clarion County Treasurer.

    Snyder began her work in the treasurer’s office in 1968 as Secretary, was appointed Deputy Treasurer in 1971, and served for a time in 1972 as acting Treasurer.

    She was first elected Treasurer in 1991 and was re-elected in 1995, 1999, 2003 and 2007.

    As County Treasurer, Snyder is an agent for the issuance of certain State and County licenses.

    During her terms, Theresa established satellite offices outside the courthouse for the sale of dog licenses for the convenience of the public, at no additional costs to the county.

    She modernized office procedures through computerization for the issuance of the Hunt, Fish and Dog license; and has been responsible for depositing, investing, and disbursing   the County’s annual income of more than $25 million with local institutions.

    As County Treasurer, Snyder serves on the County’s Retirement Board, Salary Board, and Board of Inspectors for the Clarion County Corrections facility.

    She is the Chairman of the Resolutions Committee for the Pa County Treasurers’ Association, President of the Clarion County Democratic Women’s Club, and currently serves as Vice President on the Clarion Free Library Board.

    She is also a member of the St Joseph Rosary Society in Lucinda, the Clarion, Venango, Forest County Farm Bureau, and the Fryburg Sportsmen’s Club, and co-owner of Double S Farm in Venus.

    Theresa “Tess” is a lifelong resident of Knox Township, graduated from St. Joseph High School in Lucinda, and attended Butler County Community College.

    Her sons are Scot and wife Lucy of Venus, and Eric and wife Staci of Lucinda, with grandson, Gavin.
